The Paladins (5-2, 2-0) broke an 0-9 skid in Greensboro and moved to 2-0 in the Southern Conference for the first time in 20 years thanks to
an 81-68 win over the Spartans (0-7, 0-2). When Furman went up by 19 points on a Jordan Miller layup with 6:42 to play, it looked as though the Paladins might reach walk-on time for the first time this season; but a late run to respectability by the Spartans kept scholarship players on the court to the end.
