After 12 consecutive losses to South Carolina across 30 years of basketball, Furman (8-2) earned its biggest win of the season by overpowering the Gamecocks (7-3) for a 91-75 victory. The Paladins' fifth win in a row allowed them to equal their best start since the 1987-1988 season. The Gamecocks' only previous losses had been to nationally ranked Michigan State (82-73) and Ohio State (79-57). After the game, Graham pointed out that he and roommate Rich Brown are 1-0 against South Carolina.

  1. ...a major, major win over a formidable SEC opponent. If you were part of the team preparation, you were part of the team win. Keep on truckin'

  2. Thanks for reading and commenting, Bro!

Your comment was right on the money. Graham said scout-team work was brutal this week going non-stop impersonating SC's full-court pressure defense against both the first- and second-string point guards.

After the game, Coach Jackson said Furman had spent the entire week "working on them, not us" to get ready. Graham was "them" all week, and "us" were ready!
